Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy on Monday presented raincoats to 425 police personnel in the town. The raincoats were distributed at a programme held at the GMR Convention Centre in Patancheru.
The MLA said that he had spent Rs 4 lakhs for the purchase of the raincoats. He said that the raincoats would help the police personnel stay warm and dry during the rainy season.
He also said that he would continue to support the police department in its efforts to maintain law and order in the town.
The Superintendent of Police, M Ramana Kumar, who was present at the programme, thanked the MLA for his gesture. He said that the raincoats would be a valuable asset to the police personnel.
The programme was also attended by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, N Purusottam Reddy, and other police officers.
